Date: 27.12.07r.

25th Anniversary Edition Of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, The World’s Biggest Selling Album Of All Time, Premieres New Remixes By Fergie, will.i.am, Akon & Kanye West.

Fergie has joined an already stellar line-up of guest artists for the 25th anniversary edition of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the world’s biggest selling album of all time. Alongside new remixes of classic Jackson tracks by musical contemporaries Kanye West, will.i.am. and Akon, Fergie has added her signature vocals to a new version of "Beat It" entitled "Beat It 2008," produced and mixed by her fellow Black Eyed Pea will.i.am.

Epic/Legacy Recordings proudly celebrates the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s Thriller with a newly expanded deluxe edition of the phenomenal record-breaking pop culture touchstone, available in the U.S. on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. The album will be available worldwide the week of February 11, 2008.

The Michael Jackson Thriller 25th anniversary celebration kicks off in December 2007 with the release of a new single and continues throughout 2008 with a multi-faceted global marketing campaign featuring high-profile television, radio and online events around the world.

The Thriller - 25th Anniversary Edition will include the original album in its entirety as well as seven bonus tracks and a DVD featuring Michael Jackson’s groundbreaking short films from Thriller ("Thriller," "Beat It," and "Billie Jean") and the artist’s Emmy-nominated breakout performance of "Billie Jean" from the legendary "Motown 25 : Yesterday, Today, Forever" television special (first broadcast on NBC on May 16, 1983).

The newly expanded version of Thriller premieres six tracks previously unreleased in any form : "Beat It 2008" with Fergie ; a new Kanye West remix of "Billie Jean" ; a new 2008 version of "Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’" with Akon ; will.i.am remixes of "The Girl Is Mine" and "P.Y.T." ; and "For All Time," a rare unreleased cut from the original Thriller recording sessions, newly mixed and mastered by Michael Jackson.

The deluxe Thriller - 25th Anniversary Edition packaging contains a personal greeting from Michael Jackson to his fans penned exclusively for this special release.

Originally released in the US 25 years ago on November 30, 1982 by Epic Records, Thriller, Michael Jackson’s sixth solo album and second with producer Quincy Jones, rocketed the former child-star lead singer for the Jackson 5 into the stratosphere of international superstardom. Introducing the "robot" and the "moonwalk" into the international lexicon of clubland dance moves via the pulsing sounds of Thriller, Michael Jackson revolutionized all aspects of mainstream pop culture — from radio airwaves to the newly emerging art form of music videos — becoming the world’s most popular entertainer in the process.

The original Thriller spent an astounding 80 consecutive weeks in the American Top 10, 37 of those at #1. Seven of the album’s original nine tracks became Top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 while Individual singles from Thriller reached #1 chart positions in the US, the UK, France, Italy, Australia, Denmark, Belgium, South Africa, Spain, Ireland, New Zealand and Canada.

Thriller made history as the first and only record to be America’s top-selling album two years running (1983 and 1984).

Thriller has been certified 27x platinum by the RIAA, giving it Double Diamond Award status in the US. In addition, the album has achieved Diamond or Multi-Platinum status in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. In 1985, the Guinness Book of Records named Thriller the Best Selling Album of All Time, an achievement which remains unsurpassed to this day.

In February 1984, Michael Jackson held a record-breaking 12 Grammy nominations, going on to win eight, which stands as the record for most Grammy Awards to be won by anyone in a single year. Seven of Michael’s Grammys that year were for Thriller : Album of the Year ; Record of the Year ("Beat It") ; Best Male Pop Vocal Performance ("Thriller") ; Best Engineered Recording, Non-Classical (Thriller) ; Best Male Rock Vocal Performance ("Beat It") ; Best Male R&B Vocal Performance ("Billie Jean") ; Best R&B Song ("Billie Jean"). (Michael’s eighth Grammy that year was in the Best Recording For Children - Single or Album, Musical or Spoken category for "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial"). That same year, Michael Jackson took home eight American Music Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards. The following year, "The Making of Michael Jackson’s Thriller" took home the Best Video Album trophy at the 27th Annual Grammy Awards.

Named the "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time" by the Guinness World Records, Michael Jackson is among the most highly acclaimed and influential artists in pop culture. He was named the World Music Award’s Best-Selling Pop Male Artist of the Millennium and received the American Music Award’s Artist of the Century Award. He has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice : in 1997 as a member of the Jackson 5 and as a solo artist in 2001.

Michael Jackson on shopping

NY Post Article

Looking like he stepped off the set of "The Mummy Returns," Michael Jackson took his three kids shopping Friday at a Las Vegas Barnes & Noble.

Jackson tried to cover his appearance with a hat, sunglasses and scarf wrapped around his head. But he was captured in the bookstore peering out from behind the getup. He had bandages above and below his mouth.

The pop singer and his children arrived about 10:30 pm and stayed for about three hours. They left with several boxes of books and magazines, according to the National Photo Group.

Jackon's appearance has been the subject of a lot of talk for years as people have wonder what kind of plastic surgery -- and how many operations -- he has had.

A spokesman for the singer said Jackson had no cosmetic work done recently but didn't have an explanation for Jackson's appearance.

Michael Jackson goes green

Date: 09.12.07r.

The eccentric star, Michael Jackson - who frequently charters private planes and has been accused of having a large carbon footprint - has splashed out around $20,000 on an environmentally-friendly Toyota Prius car.

Michael, 49, was seen leaving Beverly Hills' Sharper Image electrical shop before climbing into the back seat of his super-green vehicle with his driver on Friday (30.11.07).

The Prius - which is powered by electricity and petrol - has emerged as Hollywood's hybrid car of choice.

Leonardo DiCaprio was one of the first celebrities to purchase a Prius in 2001, and other stars were quick to follow.

Celebrity owners now include Cameron Diaz, Will Ferrell, Jennifer Aniston, Harrison Ford and Susan Sarandon.

Ferrell has gushed about how much he loves his green car, and even gone as far as to describe it "sexy".

He said: "I absolutely love our Prius. In addition to being obviously economical and environmentally friendly, they drive great and are just plain sexy.

There's no reason all Americans shouldn't be driving hybrid cars."

Diaz has also praised the car's fuel efficiency, saying: "It gets 52 miles per gallon. In the city. Isn't that exciting?"

Michael "Most Wanted" Celebrity

Date: 05.12.07r.

Michael Jackson has been named the #2 "Most Wanted" Celebrity of 2007 by ContactAnyCelebrity.com, a research firm that provides celebrity contact information. He was only beaten by actor Zac Efron ('High School Musical').

The Top 10 "Most Wanted" celebrities of 2007 are the most wanted for autographs, donations, product endorsements, and media requests from fans, businesses, nonprofits and the media out of ContactAnyCelebrity.com's list of over 54,565 celebrities worldwide.

Jordan McAuley, Contact Any Celebrity's Founder and President, says about the results:

"Even with his less-than-stellar image, Michael Jackson is #2 and would probably be #1 if it weren't for Zac Efron's immense popularity this year with his roles in "High School Musical," "High School Musical 2" and "Hairspray. Interestingly, the public wants to get in touch with Michael Jackson more than any other star except Zac Efron which is probably temporary - we'll have to wait and see."

The Top 10 is as follows:

Zac Efron (Actor)
Michael Jackson (Musician)
Miley Cyrus (Actress & Musician)
Oprah Winfrey (Talk Show Host & Philanthropist)
Emma Watson (Actress)
Avril Lavigne (Musician)
John Cena (Wrestler)
Chris Brown (Musician)
Angelina Jolie (Actress & Philanthropist)
Enrique Iglesias (Musician)

The Top 10 "Most Wanted" Celebrities of 2007 is compiled from two sources: searches on ContactAnyCelebrity.com's public and private online database plus clicks on the company's Google AdWords listings displayed on Google and across the Web.

Michael on a shopping in Beverly Hills

Date: 02.12.07r.

Michael Jackson’s out and about in Beverly Hills doing a spot of gadget shopping in Sharper Image. He must have found some contraption or other he liked, as he left with a couple of bags. As long as I don’t see the contents on front page news, I’m easy. Though considering it was raining I would have thought it would be the perfect opportunity for a singing in the rain style publicity stunt.

Pop superstar MICHAEL JACKSON's dancing days are behind him - because he doesn't want to kill himself onstage like his hero JAMES BROWN.

In a rare interview with America's Ebony magazine, Jackson, who turns 50 next year (08), insists he's hoping to work on movies in the future - because he can't imagine headlining world concert tours.
He explains, "Not the way James Brown did or Jackie Wilson did. They just kept going, running, killing themselves.

"I wish he (Brown) could have slowed down and relaxed and enjoyed his hard work."

JACKSON EARNED 'SMELLY' TAG BECAUSE HE COULDN'T CURSE

Movie & Entertainment News provided by World Entertainment News Network (www.wenn.com)

Producer QUINCY JONES and STEVEN SPIELBERG nicknamed MICHAEL JACKSON 'Smelly' because the pop superstar once used the word instead of swearing.

Jackson admits he uses more curse words now, but while he was recording Thriller with Jones and forming a friendship with Spielberg, he never swore.

He tells Ebony magazine, "I say a few swear words now - but especially then, you couldn't get me to swear. So I would say, 'That's a smelly song.' That would mean, 'It's so great.'"

Michael Jackson says he ignore's the gossip

NEW YORK (AP) Michael Jackson tells Ebony magazine he just tries to ignore all the gossip about him since it's usually not based on fact but on people's ignorance and craziness.

The twice-divorced father of three, says he hasn't changed all that much since releasing his blockbuster album "Thriller" nearly 25 years ago.

He say's his success has come "with a lot of pain", but that he's enjoying his life as father.

Jackson, meanwhile, could be facing the possibility of losing his Neverland Ranch in California because of delinquent payments on a 23 million dollar loan. That's according to a notice of default posted on a television station (KSBY-TV) Web site.

Calls to Jackson's spokeswoman were not returned.

Jackson no longer lives at the sprawling property in Los Olivos, California. The singer was acquitted in 2005 on child molestation charges and has lived in Bahrain, France and a castle in Ireland.

While acknowleging his reputation as a freak, the pop singer told a magazine he just brushes off criticism and remains grateful to the fans who brought him fame.

"I don't pay attention to that," the 49-year-old told Ebony magazine. "In my opinion, it's ignorance. It's usually not based on fact. ... Every neighborhood has the guy who you don't see, so you gossip about him. You see those stories about him, there's the myth that he did this or he did that. People are crazy!"

Despite a life-time of mega-stardom, Jackson says he has barely changed since releasing his 1980s blockbuster Thriller.

"That Michael is probably the same Michael here," he claimed in the magazine, to be published on Monday.

The father-of-three added his long term ambition was always to raise children.

"I just wanted to get certain things accomplished first. But I always had this tug in the back of my head, the things I wanted to do, to raise children, have children. I'm enjoying it very much."

"I still feel grateful" for all the success, said the singer, who has sold more than 750 million albums worldwide.

But he criticised modern artists for trying to mask a lack of creativity by making excuses.

"I don't think people are being as experimental and innovative enough," he said. "I know people can easily say, 'Well, we don't have the Michael Jackson budget.' Wrong, you can be so creative with almost nothing. And that's usually the best stuff, when you strip it down to the bare minimum and go inside yourself and invent

Legal papers show Michael Jackson must pay millions or risks losing his Neverland Ranch

The singer risks loosing Neverland Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley if he can't come up with $23 million dollars.

Legal papers show Jackson has less than three months to make the hefty payment or risk losing his property forever.

The singer must pay more than $23 million or lose his Neverland Ranch.

"Even though he's Michael Jackson he's a regular human being, the county's not going to go out of their way to do something special for him or give him any special pervailances because he is who he is," said Wendy Baker, a Santa Barbara Loan Consultant.

According to documents Action News obtained from the Santa Barbara County Clerk-Recorder's Office, Jackson was issued, a notice of default on October 22 for failing to make payments on a loan he made. If Jackson does not make the required payment within 90 days, Baker says the singer could faces major legal repercussions in addition to loosing his home.

"He might have some serious tax ramifications absolutely other than having a foreclosure on his credit report and trying to borrow money," she said.

Baker says a Notice of Default is the second step a lender will take before the county can legally foreclose on a home.

"If the borrower still doesn't bring it current five days prior to the trustee sale it will go on auction at the courthouse steps," Baker said.

According to recent reports the singer is living in a rented home in Washington, D.C., while his multi-million dollar estate sits vacant.

Some question if Jackson 's financial troubles will push him to file bankruptcy. Baker says bankruptcy laws have gotten much stricter and she doesn't believe that kind of legal move would be in Jackson's best interests.

In addition to the $23 million, Jackson also owes more than $200,000 in interest. We have copies of all the documents filed so far in the Neverland default.

Los Angeles judge orders Michael Jackson to pay law firm $175,000

Date: 16.10.07r.

LOS ANGELES - A judge has ordered Michael Jackson to pay $175,000 in overdue fees to a law firm that sued the pop singer.

Superior Court Judge James Chalfant's order means Jackson's legal bill to the firm, Ayscough and Marar, now totals more than $430,000. The firm sued Jackson in February 2006, claiming he did not pay for services it rendered on his behalf.

The firm said it had obtained court orders to delay discovery in civil cases and kept information from being released during the singer's 2005 child-molestation trial, according to the lawsuit.

In July, Chalfant said Jackson would have to pay the law firm $256,000 for unpaid fees. Jackson's lawyers have appealed that judgment.

Monday's award compensates the law firm for having to hire a lawyer to sue Jackson. The firm had asked for nearly $450,000.

Jackson countersued the firm last year, claiming that one of the firm's lawyers threatened to expose confidential information about him to the media.

Chalfant dismissed Jackson's suit, saying it lacked merit.

The law firm, located in Torrance, also helped defend Jackson against a lawsuit brought by former business associate Marc Schaffel, claiming the singer owed him $1.4 million for past work.

A jury last year awarded Schaffel $900,000, but directed him to pay Jackson $200,000 to satisfy a countersuit alleging Schaffel misappropriated funds.

Michael Jackson plagarized hit tune, Belgian court rules

Date: 12.09.07r.

A Brussels court has ruled that Michael Jackson's 1995 hit "You are not alone" is largely similar to a song penned by Belgian twins two years previously, local media reported Tuesday.

All the authorial rights of the Jackson number one hit, written by Robert Kelly, alias US singer-songwriter R. Kelly, therefore are switched to the brothers according to the court ruling handed down last week.

The twin composers have fought for 12 years to gain recognition for their work, however the judgment is only applicable in Belgium and getting hold of royalties may be no simple task.

"You are not alone" was released in August 1995, the second single off the multi-platinum Jackson album 'HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I'.

It became the first-ever single to debut at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

On their website the Belgian composer-brothers said that the Belgian rights society SABAM had confirmed that "the most important and largest part" of the Jackson hit is "identical" to the Van Passels' work.

Lawyer for the brothers Emmanuel Van Melkebelke said: "We are very happy. Considering the many resemblances, You are not alone is indeed clearly based upon my client's work.

"Further more, R Kelly failed to produce any evidence that You are not alone was his own creation and not a mere adaptation of my clients' work.

Publicists and the legal representative of R Kelly, whose real name is Robert Kelly, could not be reached for comment.

One person who took notice of Brown’s dazzling display was none other than the King of Pop himself, who issued this exclusive statement to Access Hollywood:

“Chris is a bright and shining star whom I enjoy watching perform. I am happy to have had a positive influence on him.”

Justin Timberlake, a big winner at last night’s awards, was also impressed by Brown’s dynamic energy:

“Nobody likes to be reminded that they’re getting older. And whatever Chris Brown just did reminded me of how I’m getting older,” said the 28-year-old Timberlake on the broadcast. “Cause damn. It’s just exciting to see”

Judge nixes custody bid for Jackson kids

Date: 16.08.07r.

A London woman who claims she is the real mother of Michael Jackson's three children was denied a role Wednesday in the singer's custody settlement with his ex-wife, Deborah Rowe.

Nona Paris Lola Jackson, 36, asked a judge to grant her joint physical custody of Jackson's 10-year-old son, Prince Michael, and 9-year-old daughter, Paris. She also claims to be the mother of 5-year-old Prince Michael II.

"I feel her evidence fails to establish any genetic relationship between herself and the Jackson-Rowe children," Superior Court Judge Robert A. Schnider said.

Schnider also denied the woman's request to nullify Jackson's marriages with Rowe and with Lisa Marie Presley, both of which ended in divorce.

Nona Jackson was heard in the courtroom through a telephone and loudspeaker. Jackson and Rowe were not present.

Jackson settled a custody fight with Rowe over his two eldest children in September. Details of that agreement have not been released. Jackson has not identified the mother of Prince Michael II.

Nona Jackson also asked the court to grant her child support in an amount to be determined by Jackson, along with possession of his Neverland Ranch and a San Fernando Valley home.

"Debbie's hospital records will prove that my kids are not hers because of DNA," she stated.

In court papers, Nona Jackson contended that "Michael and I are a sexually active couple and have been this way from the beginning." She also claimed to have written more than 3,000 songs for him.

The woman's three previous attempts to have a say in the custody battle were rejected by the same judge last November and in February and May on grounds that she had failed to notify Jackson and Rowe of the hearings.

With Wednesday's ruling, it was unclear if she had any more legal options.

"I guess it's possible she could always do something else," said Marta B. Almli, Rowe's attorney.

Michael Jackson sued by former lawyers

Date: 15.08.07r.

Michael Jackson's former entertainment lawyers filed a lawsuit Tuesday claiming the singer owes them more than $113,000.

The law firm Lavely & Singer of Los Angeles says Jackson agreed in arbitration last year to pay them $180,000 in three installments.

Jackson failed to make the final payment of $113,750 before the July 31, 2007, deadline stipulated in the settlement, the firm alleges in a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

A message left for Jackson's publicist, Raymone Bain, was not immediately returned Tuesday. His lawyer, Christopher Mellott, could not be reached after hours Tuesday.

A judge last month ordered the pop singer to pay more than $256,000 in legal fees to another firm that handled some side issues during his 2005 child molestation trial.

Raymone responds to Roger

Bain's Letter to Friedman says he lied about MiJac and Marion Berry; Demands retraction.

(August 15, 2007)August 15, 2007

Roger:

In your column dated August 14, 2007, you indicate that Michael Jackson is "homeless, carting around w/ three school-aged kids ... but, Michael Jackson has a new friend: former imprisoned crack addict and Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion Barry." And, you state further that I introduced the two of them.

All of this, Roger, is a complete lie. I do not know who your sources are, or why you continue to believe them. I do not know why you continue to write untruths which can be verified as untruths. I do not know why you do not check to determine the accuracy of your sources. And, I do not know why you have such venom for Michael Jackson. But, let me state for the record:

1) FACT: Michael Jackson has neither met, nor does he know Former Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion S. Barry, Jr., neither has he been in his presence while on the East Coast, and vice-versa. PERIOD.

2) FACT: While Former Mayor Barry and I are friends, and, while we have oftentimes indicated our desire to have lunch, because of schedule conflicts, I have not seen him in at least two years.

3) FACT: "Michael Jackson is not homeless, carting around with three school-aged kids....." While where Mr. Jackson is currently residing is his own private business, Mr. Jackson will never be "homeless" as long as he owns the 3,000 acre estate called Neverland Valley Ranch, which to my knowledge, and at this date, he has not sold. Mr. Jackson has a tutor for his children who is certified and qualified. As we are in the summer months, and most children in the United States are on vacation until classes begin later in the month, the same applies to Mr. Jackson's children

I will let Mr. Jackson's attorneys deal with other issues you have raised should they see fit; and, I will let Marion Barry deal with your portrayal of him, should he see fit. But I find it unbelievable that you dedicated almost your entire column on background of Marion Barry when neither he or Michael Jackson have met.

I am respectfully requesting an immediate retraction regarding the issues I have previously outlined.

Thank you very much for your attention and cooperation.

Raymone K. Bain

Michael Jackson spotted Wednesday at Washington law offices of Venable LLP

Date: 28.07.07r.

Michael Jackson was spotted Wednesday evening in the downtown law offices of Venable LLP in Washington. One spy said he looked exactly like, well, himself: black sunglasses, black jacket, white shirt, black pants, white socks, black loafers, a pair of oversize bodyguards.

For those lucky enough to glimpse Jackson, his appearance explained a memo the firm had just put out, warning staffers not to gawk at clients.

What was he doing there? All we know is what Jackson's D.C.-based rep, Raymone Bain, told Washington Post last month when he showed up on Maryland's Eastern Shore, that he's looking for real estate (no word of a purchase yet) and that he had to meet with East Coast advisers. Bain didn't return calls yesterday; Venable reps said they couldn't discuss any visits to their offices "out of respect for the privacy of all our clients."

Michael Jackson's birdie song

Date: 26.07.07r.

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Michael Jackson sings like a bird, according to rapper-and-producer Will.I.Am.

The Black Eyed Peas star is working with Jackson on the 'Thriller' singer's new album and says he is amazed with his unique voice.

Will.I.Am said: "Man, he still sings like a bird. He could go anywhere. We have a real opportunity to do something here. It's either going to be really big or nobody's going to care. Ain't no middle ground on this one."

The music star, who is producing Jackson's first studio album for six years, recently revealed he was completely shocked to be asked to work with the former 'King of Pop'.

He said: "Michael called up and I thought someone was joking. I hear, 'Hello, its Michael,' and I was like, 'Yeah right, stop playing!'

"Then he said, 'I want to congratulate you on all your success. Do you mind if I call you in a couple of days at 4pm?' Then he started ringing me every day at 4pm. So I started working on music for him on the tour bus."

Michael Jackson and the kids tour D.C. museums: Family visits Air & Space and American Indian museums on Wednesday.

*Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum welcomed the world’s No. 1 moonwalker Wednesday for a tour with his three children, reports the Washington Post.

"He wanted to show them the sights," his rep Raymone Bain told The Washington Post.

Jackson took particular interest in the 1903 Wright Flyer, the first heavier-than-air powered aircraft to make a sustained flight with a pilot aboard. The kids were fascinated with robots R2-D2 and C-3PO from the "Star Wars" movies, the Post reported.

Jackson also visited Smithsonian’s American Indian museum on Wednesday. The King of Pop and his children were given special tours at both places before the buildings opened to the public.

Bain said the singer will remain in D.C. for a few days. He has been in the area scouting vacation homes.

Judge to Decide Award in Secret Taping in Michael Jackson Case

Date: 19.07.07r.

The owner of a charter jet company says he'd like a judge to decide how much he should have to pay Michael Jackson in connection with an incident during the pop star's arrest on child molestation charges.

The owner of the jet set up videotaping equipment to record Jackson and his lawyers during the flight from Las Vegas to his surrender in Santa Barbara, California.

The matter ended up in court and the jet's owner is now the target of a civil lawsuit. The jet company wants the judge to set punitive damages without hearing from witnesses who would have testified about his financial worth.

The judge has heard testimony in the two million dollar invasion-of-privacy suit, but hasn't ruled on it yet.

Michael Searches For Vacation Home In Maryland

Date: 4.07.07r.

Raymone Bain has confirmed that Michael is indeed scouting out some summer- house properties. Michael was in the Eastern Shore of Maryland last week for about 24 hours. Michael hasn't purchased any property as of yet as some reports are circulating the internet.

Michael has not limited his search to the Chesapeake region. He has reportly gone up the coast still searching for a vacation home.

Jackson came east with his children about 10 days ago to attend some meetings with his advisers and attorneys who live in the East coast. Michael has always enjoyed the East Coast because there is lots of land.

The Easton Star Democrat, citing "inside sources" said that Jackson spent the previous night at the historic Inn at Perry Cabin. The inn's managers declined to comment on wether Michael was staying at the inn. A wave of news reports followed, but no actual sightings. WBAL-TV captured video of sheets shrouding the path from the inn's exit to a waiting limousine . . . which certainly seemed like vintage MJ.

Ms. Bain was asked what Michael's meetings were about and she answered: "A laundry list" of issues, Bain said. "He's head of a vast corporation."…

Raymone K. Bain ansers on the mail

Date: 1.07.07r.

An on-going feud with a Fox News reporter has led Michael Jackson’s manager to reveal the star’s future plans exclusively to MJStar.

Jackson’s manager, Raymone Bain, has spent the past few days wrangling with Fox News reporter Roger Friedman.

Friedman alleged in a column on Wednesday that Jackson had fabricated claims that he was working on a new album, claiming the the star was actually bed-ridden and addicted to painkillers.

The infamous columnist, despised amongst Jackson’s online fan community, further alleged that Jackson would be forced to sell his half of the notorious Beatles Catalogue within the next year.

Bain swiftly released a counter-statement claiming Jackson had no intention of selling the catalogue. She added that Jackson was not bed-ridden and was, in fact, putting the finishing touches on new music.

Bain concluded her statement with the threat of legal action.

Today saw Friedman attack Bain once more, labelling her a liar and claiming his allegations were supported by legal documents he had obtained.

Speaking exclusively to MJStar this afternoon, Bain responded to Friedman’s attack with the following statement:

“[Roger] could do no more than to create a subterfuge. I stand by my release. If you go back and look at Roger’s past reports, he defended me, now he attacks me…I expected it.”

When quizzed by MJStar as to the true status of Jackson’s new album, Ms Bain exclusively revealed;

“He is going to release several singles prior to the album being released. He’s finishing up the first 3-4 now.”

She added that these singles will be released before the end of 2007.

MJStar asked whether Jackson would promote these singles with either music videos or live performances.

As yet, Bain has declined to comment…

There was no press release issued from Mr. Jackson’s organization regarding any European tour plans. Despite reports to the contrary, Mr. Jackson is currently in the studio putting finishing touches on his music.

Mr. Jackson has not "left" Las Vegas nor is he being "evicted" from his residence in Las Vegas. He decided not to exercise the option to purchase the house. Period.

Mr. Jackson does not believe that his brother, Randy Jackson, has stolen monies from him, nor does he believe that Randy, or any of his family members, would ever steal from him. Reports regarding the same were untrue and malicious.

Contrary to published reports, Mr. Jackson is neither losing, nor is he selling his share of the ATV/Sony partnership. Reports regarding the same are ludicrous, without merit, and are being written without sufficient personal financial information to make such an unwarranted pronouncement.

Mr. Jackson is concerned that his assistant, Grace Rwaramba, is constantly being attacked by Fox News’ Roger Friedman. There have been vicious and untrue reports concerning Ms. Rwaramba, who lives a very private life and has done nothing wrong, but is being attacked for her professional relationship and proximity to Mr. Jackson.

While in his entire career, Mr. Jackson has never uttered a disparaging word to any reporter, nor has he ever used or instructed his security to use any force toward any reporter, there are those whose vehement hatred for Mr. Jackson has reached a level where all journalistic integrity has been lost, in order to write reports for which there is no substantiation, are untrue, written to create a frenzy, or used to try and destroy Mr. Jackson’s image. They know who they are; and, this is a sad commentary…a commentary which Mr. Jackson’s attorneys will address.

Michael & Co. Vs. Jay-Z

JAY-Z
Co-owns Chelsea hotspot.June 26, 2007 -- Megastars Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and more than a dozen music publishers have banded together against Jay-Z's 40/40 Club - rapping the Chelsea hotspot with a federal lawsuit for allegedly skimping on royalties.

The popular 40/40 Club, co-owned by Jay-Z and two business partners, has danced around licensing rules to entertain clubgoers with "unauthorized public performance of musical compositions," according to a lawsuit filed yesterday in Manhattan federal court.

Broadcast Music Inc. led the charge on behalf of Jackson and more than a dozen artists and music publishing companies, seeking unspecified damages for copyright infringement from the club and co-owners Desiree Gonzalez - who has the primary responsibility for operations and management - and Juan Perez.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is not named.

Jackson's "Billie Jean" and "Don't Stop," "Thoia Thoing" by R. Kelly and "Gold Digger" by Kanye West, Ray Charles and Renald Richard, were among seven unlicensed songs played at the club during a random visit by a BMI researcher on two nights in March 2006.

Even singer Pharrell Williams, who has frequently collaborated with Jay-Z in the past, was not immune - his song "Touch" was also played without license.

BMI spokesman Jerry Bailey said the company holds the licensing rights to 6.5 million songs - roughly half those played in the United States - and has tried unsuccessfully to license the 40/40 Club since it opened in 2003. The lavish sports bar and lounge on West 25th Street boasts a $4 million multi-level space with dozens of televisions to view sporting events, and several private VIP rooms.

Michael Shen, a lawyer for the club, said he had not yet seen the lawsuit and declined further comment.

The legal action comes one month after the nightspot was hit with a class action lawsuit for allegedly keeping a cut of workers' tips in violation of minimum wage laws.

Celeste Williams, a former waitress at 40/40, accused the club of "willfully failing and refusing to pay [its workers] at the legally required minimum wage" since the nightspot opened in 2003.

Her lawyer claimed 100 staffers have been ripped off - although club management said Williams worked at 40/40 for only four days in December 2005 - in the suit seeking unspecified damages.

Michael Jackson Vs. Ayscough & Marar lawyer company (agreement)

Date: 27.06.07r.

LOS ANGELES -- An attorney for Michael Jackson said Tuesday that the pop star will agree to a judgment directing him to pay $216,000, plus interest, to a Torrance law firm that sued him for overdue fees.

The law firm of Ayscough & Marar sued Jackson on Feb. 21, 2006, in Torrance Superior Court. Work that the firm did for Jackson included obtaining court orders to delay discovery in civil cases and keeping information from being publicly released while Jackson's child molestation trial was in progress in Santa Maria in 2005, according to the lawsuit.

Ayscough & Marar also helped defend Jackson against a lawsuit brought by former business associate Marc Schaffel, alleging the singer owed him $1.4 million for past work.

A Santa Monica jury last July 14 awarded Schaffel $900,000, but directed him to pay Jackson $200,000 to satisfy a countersuit alleging Schaffel misappropriated funds.

Ayscough & Marar's case against the singer was moved to the downtown Los Angeles courthouse last October at the request of Jackson's lawyers. Trial of the case was scheduled to begin today.

But Jackson's lawyer, Marshall L. Brubacher, agreed to a judgment against his client after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James C. Chalfant ruled that the entertainer's lawyers could not use many of the defenses they had hoped to raise during trial.

Brubacher told Chalfant that agreeing to the judgment made economic sense for his client.

"We want to stop the hemorraging," Brubacher said.
Brubacher also said he and Jackson's other lawyers will not challenge the judgment later on the basis that their client was not present in court.

Chalfant said he was striking the defenses because of Jackson's "willful failure" to turn over information requested by the law firm, and for ignoring a June 12 court order to finish a deposition the singer walked out of on Feb. 27.

Michael McCarthy, an attorney for Ayscough & Marar, said yesterday that Jackson was scheduled to resume the deposition last Friday at the Westlake Village law office of another of his lawyers, Thomas C. Mundell, but never showed up.

Brubacher said after today's hearing that he does not know why the singer did not appear for the deposition, but the lawyer told Chalfant that Jackson likely would not have known the answers to the questions McCarthy intended to ask.

McCarthy said interest on the judgment amounts to another $40,000, meaning his clients are actually entitled to $256,000. McCarthy said he also will ask Chalfant to order Jackson to pay him about $280,000 for the lawyer's work in representing the law firm.

Brubacher said he has not yet figured out how much interest there will be on the judgment, and that the additional $280,000 McCarthy wants is too high.

"This was a simple case," Brubacher said. "We tried to settle this several times."

Jackson countersued the law firm last Aug. 29. The singer's allegations included a claim that one of the firm's lawyers threatened to expose confidential information about him to the media.

Chalfant later dismissed the Jackson countersuit, finding it lacked merit, said Brent Ayscough, a partner in Ayscough & Marar. He said Jackson remains mired in debt because of his lifestyle.

Michael Jackson moving out of Vegas mansion

Date: 26.06.07r.

Michael Jackson is on the move again and rumored to be leaving Las Vegas.

The self-proclaimed King of Pop is moving out of a 10-bedroom mansion in suburban Las Vegas, his spokesman, Ramone Bain, confirmed Monday.

Bain told Vegas Confidential that Jackson will be out by June 30, when his $1 million lease deal expires.

"He loved the house but decided to allow the lease to expire because of concerns that security wasn't sufficient," said Bain.

As for rumors that he's moving out of Las Vegas, where he had hoped to relaunch his career, she said, "I don't know of any plans to leave." Jackson moved into the house in December after moving his family here from Ireland.

Bain again insisted that Jackson never intended to become an entertainer in Las Vegas.

The home is owned by San Francisco real estate mogul Luke Brugnara, who has plans to purchase a casino here.

A source said Jackson was unable to get financing on the house and wanted to extend his lease but Brugnara wanted to use his house for his many business trips.

Jack Wishna, the Las Vegas dealmaker who arranged Jackson's move to Las Vegas, acknowledged for the first time that he had a headliner deal put together for Jackson but "it went nowhere" when neither Jackson nor his team responded.

Jackson definitely wanted to work in Las Vegas, said Wishna, who put together Donald Trump's twin towers deal in Las Vegas.

"I had him (Jackson) on the telephone when he was in Ireland and he was all excited about working in Las Vegas. It even got down to the detail of a statue of himself that he wanted out front (of the hotel).

"He also came up with the idea of having his own slot machines. I have a signed contract that he wanted us to put together to market his slot machines in Europe and Asia."

The Prescient vs. Michael Jackson no trial

Date: 19.06.07r.

Michael Jackson is grateful that his lawyers settled a lawsuit brought by a finance company that claimed was cheated out of $48 million.

The lawsuit by Prescient Acquisition, of Hackensack, New Jersey, was settled Monday just as jury selection was set to begin in Manhattan. The terms of the settlement were not released. Jackson's lawyer L.Londell McMillan said he delivered news of the settlement to the King of Pop, who said," I am very grateful that this is behind me."

"The most important thing is that Michael Jackson's publishing catalogue remains safe and sound," said McMillan, an entertainment law star whose clients have included Prince and Stevie Wonder.

Darien Dash's lawyer said the businessman was owed the money for helping Jackson refinance a $ 272 million bank loan and secure $573 million in financing to buy Sony's half of the Beatle's catalogue. Jackson said he never heard of Dash.

After the settlement, Dash's lawyer, Steven Altman, said: "We brought the lawsuit to collect money for services Mr. Dash provided to Mr. Jackson. We're very pleased with the settlement, although the terms of it we've agreed to keep confidential at Mr. Jackson's request."

McMillan said Jackson was dismissed earlier in the year as a defendant, but the trust to one of his publishing catalogues remained a defendant. A man who worked for Jackson signed an agreement while Jackson was on trial in California who didn't have authority to do so from Jackson.

The lawyer said the settlement "presents a win-win for everybody."

Now, the lawyer said, with the litigation behind Jackson, "the world is awaiting his next creative move."

The lawsuit was one of many recent lawsuits involving Jackson and former business associates. Last year, a jury in California awared a former Jackson aviser $900,000 for work he did on videos intended to rehabilitate the pop star's image. The jury awarded Jackson $200,000 in a cross complaint.

In a deposition taken for the New York case in Paris last summer, Jackson said that the entertainment industry was "full of sharks, charlatans and impostors."

"Because there's a lot of money involved, there's a bunch of schmucks in there," Jackson said. "It's the entertainment world, full of thieves and crooks. That's not new. Everybody knows that."

Michael thanks Burkle, Jesse Jackson for financial advice

Date: 18.06.07r.

NEW YORK -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson and billionaire Ron Burkle came through with key advice to save singer Michael Jackson from financial disaster when he was fighting child molestation charges, Jackson says in a court deposition.

The Daily News said in Sunday editions it reviewed seven hours of transcripts, finding that the singer believed disloyal advisers took advantage of him financially before a Santa Maria, Calif., jury acquitted him of child molestation in June 2005.

Jackson testified that during his trial he received wise advice during bathroom break cell phone calls with Burkle, the billionaire friend of former President Clinton.

Burkle brought in Jesse Jackson, who has known Michael Jackson since he was a child, to help with the consultations, the newspaper said.

Michael Jackson said in a deposition taken last summer in Paris that the entertainment industry was "full of sharks, charlatans and impostors."

"Because there's a lot of money involved, there's a bunch of schmucks in there," Jackson said. "It's the entertainment world, full of thieves and crooks. That's not new. Everybody knows that."

The deposition was made in preparation for a civil trial expected to begin this week in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. The case against Jackson was brought by a Hackensack, N.J. finance company that claims Jackson cheated the company of $48 million.

June date court set for Dash Vs Jackson Trial

Date: 28.04.07r.

A judge has set a June 18, 2007 trial date for a case in which a New Jersey financial company is claiming singer Michael Jackson owes the firm $48 million.

A multimillion-dollar refinancing deal is at issue, arranged by Prescient Acquisition Group of Hackensack. Owner Darien Dash, a cousin of hip-hop mogul Damon Dash, says Jackson turned to him in late 2004, when the pop star faced child molestation charges.

The company helped Jackson, who was later acquitted, refinance a $272 million bank loan that was coming due. It also secured $537 million in financing so he could buy out Sony's half interest in the Beatles' catalogue of songs.

Federal marshals have been alerted that the pop star might come to New York, but it's still unclear whether he'll appear in Judge Kevin Castel's courtroom. "That's the $48 million question," Jackson attorney Londell McMillan told The News' Thomas Zambito.

McMillan figures the odds are "60-40" in favor of the case going to trial. "Michael is not going to be hijacked by the threat of fraudulent claims," McMillan said.

Harris-Scott Vs. Jackson Case Dismissed

Yesterday, a Los Angeles Judge dismissed the case, (Case ID: SC089547, Case Number: SC089547, Case Type: Infliction of Emotional Distress - General Jurisdiction), brought by Helen M. Harris-Scott against Michael Jackson.

The bizarre case, filed 04/28/2006 by Harris-Scott, alleged that she began sending Jackson cards and letters in 1986, declaring her love and admiration for the pop star. The plaintiff claimed Mr Jackson was shy and communicated with her through others and through his music.

Harris-Scott claimed that it became very bad around 1987 when Jackson, who was "connected with criminals", flattened her tires and tampered with her brake system. She also said a GPS tracking device was secretly installed in her car, tracking her every move. She said her phone was also wiretapped.

Harris-Scott demanded an immediate apology from Jackson and she also wanted $100 million.

Michael Jackson Calls On Akon's Help For Chart Comeback

Date: 07.04.07r.

Michael Jackson is looking to top the U.S. charts as he plans his major comeback and Michael has asked Akon to help him return to the top. Jackson has been working with Will.i.am on his comeback album as well. He now plans to meet with Akon, who is at number one with Don't Matter and Gwen Stefani's number two hit The Sweet Escape.

They were supposed to have met in Las Vegas last week but due to previous commitments Akon has called off his meeting with the King of Pop. He is hoping to meet with Jackson before the end of April and making big plans for the superstar's comeback.

He told Rolling Stone Magazine, ""I'm excited because I think it's gonna be magic when we get together."

"All the stuff that he's going through, that he's been through the past two years, the stuff that's been out in the media... the stuff that hasn't been out, I think he needs to just take all that (and) put it in his records. It's a big story.

"Nobody's ever really heard Mike's story... If he takes that and accepts what's been out there and expresses his opinion, express his feelings, express what he felt on a record I think it'd take his whole album to a whole 'nother level because the album now becomes a soundtrack of his life from that point to this point and that's something people are gonna want to know about."

Michael Jackson might stop auction of family items

Date: 06.04.07r.

Pop star, Michael Jackson, might stop auction of more than 1,100 Jackson family items which are set for auction in Las Vegas next month, but a representative for Michael Jackson says the pop star is considering legal action to stop the sale.

“Mr. Jackson was not aware and he is extremely upset that his memorabilia was included amongst the memorabilia that is being auctioned off,” said Raymone K. Bain, Mr. Jackson's spokeswoman.

The Jacksons Auction is scheduled May, 30-31 at the Hard Rock hotel resort.

Guernsey’s auction house said items include Michael Jackson’s gold record for his “Thriller” album, handwritten lyrics for The Jackson Five hit “ABC” and a “Victory Tour” program signed by Jackson family members.

Arlan Ettinger, founder and president of Guernsey’s, compared the sale to an auction of Elvis Presley/Graceland memorabilia he conducted in Las Vegas in 1999.

“It certainly is in that sphere of landmark, high-profile, extraordinary auctions,” Ettinger told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Michael Jackson is currently living in Las Vegas and working on his new music. His father, former Jackson Five manager Joe Jackson, also lives in Las Vegas. He didn’t respond to a phone message seeking comment.

Ettinger said the collection was owned by luggage transportation company Universal Express Inc., of Boca Raton, Fla., which bought it last year from a New Jersey construction company owner.

The former owner, Henry Vaccaro, claimed a warehouse full of Jackson memorabilia after a failed business venture wound up in bankruptcy court. Michael Jackson and his sister Janet Jackson sued to stop Vaccaro from taking ownership, but a Los Angeles judge threw out Michael Jackson’s claim in 2006.

The status of Janet Jackson’s claim was unclear Wednesday. Messages left for her publicist weren’t immediately returned.

Other items include a test pressing of The Jackson Five’s “I Want You Back,” Marlon Jackson’s glitter jacket, Randy Jackson’s futuristic 1984 stage boots and a white fedora believed to be from Michael Jackson’s “Bad” album music video.

Michael Jackson arrived to UK

Date: 18.03.07r.

Michael Jackson's kids are just like their dad.

Not fans of being papped.

Jacko arrived at London's Heathrow airport yesterday (14.03.07) with his brood - a very rare occurrence.

However, the kids out-disguised even their dad.

Jacko himself arriving
Known well for his face-covering antics, Michael's kids - Paris Michael Katherine (born 1998), Prince Michael Jackson I (born 1997) and Prince Michael Jackson II (born 2002) - were all well hidden.

They strolled through arrivals with their dad with scarves wrapped around their heads and secured on with baseball caps.

Frankly, there was no chance of even a sneaky peep.

However, we're happy to report that the scarves weren't so dense that the kids couldn't see where they were going or breathe easily.
